3.10. Tip Text      example

Tip Text is text that appears for a short time when you set the pointer on a certain text fragment or a picture. (You often see tip text in the form of short comments or function names when you set the pointer on tool buttons (tool tips), for example, in Internet Explorer). You, as a developer, can use this feature
  • to insert short comments
  • to translate a word or a phrase
  • to give a synonym or an antonym of the selected word
Length of a tip text shouldn't exeed 70 characters.

Save Tip Text in Buffer:
  1. Type the text you want to be Tip Text. You can type it anywhere in the LTeditor as it will be removed from the position.
  2. Highlight the text.
  3. Execute command: Menu -> Text-Object -> Tip_Text -> Save_Tip_Text
    ( context-Menu-> --SAVE AS-- Tip_Text) After that the text will disappear from the page.

Create Tip Text Object:
  1. Highlight the word or the phrase to be translated or commented with Tip Text.
  2. Execute command:  Menu -> Text-Object  -> Tip_Text -> Add_Tip_Text
    ( Context-menu -> --ADD-- Tip_Text )
The word or the phrase mentioned in step #1 becomes underlined. You can apply any other decoration like color or size to the word or phrase. ( NOTE! Don't apply any decoration to the Tip Text itself. It doesn't work)

Manipulating the Tip Text Object

To manipulate any object you should open the  monitor window.
Warning: all manipulations replace the existing Editor's text with the updated version. Be sure to save your existing text before any manipulation.

To replace:
1.  Type new Tip Text in the LTeditor.
2. Highlight the text.
3. Set pointer on the Tip Text object and left click to activate the object.
4. Right click to open context menu.
5. Execute "Replace Tip Text" command.

To delete:
1. Set pointer on the Tip Text object and left click to activate the object.
2. Right click to open context menu.
3. Execute "Delete Object" command.

Advanced technique

Change tip text manually (for experienced users only!)
